Prepare for Oregon alcohol-service work with online Alcohol Server Education. ABC Server Training appears on OLCC's approved online provider list under provider code ABC.
Your course and your Alcohol Service Permit are separate. Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) handles the permit application and final state test through CAMP. Completing the education course alone does not authorize you to serve alcohol.
Plan for the education, application and testing steps together. A course receipt is not a temporary permit.
Applicants must be at least 18. Servers ages 18-20 have a minor service permit with restricted duties.
Check the effective and expiration dates on your OLCC Alcohol Service Permit and plan ahead for renewal.
OLCC lists a non-refundable $23 application fee. This is paid separately from the education-course purchase.
Complete the application, pay the fee, finish approved education and pass the OLCC-proctored test before temporary-permit issuance.

The permit requirement follows the work performed and the licensed operation, not simply a hospitality job title.
Covered employees who mix, serve or sell alcohol for drinking at the premises, and managers who supervise that work, need the applicable service permit.
Some off-premises functions, including filling growlers, also require a service permit. Confirm the duties with OLCC rather than assuming all retail work is exempt.
A minor service permit allows limited service in areas where minors are permitted and alcohol service is secondary to food service. It does not authorize mixing drinks or working as a bartender.
Restaurants, bars, hotels and tourism businesses should check each person's permit status and authorized duties before assigning alcohol-service work.

ABC Server Training provides the education portion. OLCC administers the permit application, state test and permit decision through CAMP.
You can begin the application or education first, following OLCC instructions. Both paths must come together in CAMP before the state issues your permit. Follow your Oregon application notices and deadlines.
Retain your course-completion information and the permit OLCC issues. Provide the actual permit when your employer needs proof that you may perform covered duties.
The sequence below starts with course enrollment. CAMP also supports starting the application before taking the course.
Review the Oregon course offer and enroll using Begin Course.
Finish the approved course. Follow the provider's instructions so your completion record can be matched to your CAMP application.
Create or access CAMP, complete the application, pay the state fee and take the OLCC-proctored test when your record is ready.
Follow your CAMP notices, obtain the temporary or final permit OLCC issues, and keep the permit available while working.
Application-first applicants: OLCC gives 45 days to complete the course and pass the test. That application deadline is not permission to serve without a permit.

The change effective March 31, 2025 matters to new hires and returning seasonal staff.
Submitting an application or paying the fee is not enough. The education course and OLCC-proctored test must also be completed before a temporary permit is issued.
A course-completion screen documents education. It is the OLCC-issued permit that matters for alcohol-service authorization.

The service permit lasts five years. Use OLCC's renewal instructions, complete the required education and testing, and apply before the existing permit expires.
Your ABC Server Training purchase is for education. The $23 non-refundable OLCC application fee is paid to the state in CAMP; it is not included merely by buying the course.

It is the approved education component of the OLCC Alcohol Service Permit process. ABC Server Training is listed by OLCC as an online education provider. The state application and final test are handled separately in CAMP.
No. Course completion is one requirement. OLCC issues the Alcohol Service Permit after the application, fee, approved education, state test and other applicable requirements are satisfied.
Use OLCC CAMP. Follow its application and testing instructions and make sure your training record is correctly associated with your application.
Covered workers who mix, serve or sell alcohol for on-premises consumption, managers supervising that work, and certain other functions such as growler filling need the appropriate permit. Confirm your specific duties with OLCC.
Do not assume that an application or payment authorizes service. Since March 31, 2025, the application, fee, education course and OLCC-proctored test must be completed before a temporary permit is issued.
The minimum permit age is 18. Workers ages 18-20 have a minor service permit with restrictions, including limits on duties and areas of service. It does not authorize bartending or mixing drinks.
An OLCC Alcohol Service Permit is valid for five years. Check your permit dates and follow OLCC renewal instructions before expiration.
No. OLCC currently lists a $23 non-refundable application fee paid separately through CAMP. Your course purchase pays for the education program.
OLCC allows the application or education to be started first. Follow the current CAMP instructions, meet any application deadlines, and complete all required steps before relying on permit authorization.
Use Enroll Your Employees for course enrollment. Each worker still needs to complete the individual state permit process and hold the permit appropriate to their duties.
Follow the OLCC renewal process in CAMP, including required education, testing and the state application fee. Course retraining alone does not renew the state permit.
Use the OLCC approved online education-provider list linked on this page. ABC Server Training appears under provider code ABC.
Regulatory sources checked October 6, 2026. Confirm current requirements with the state and, where applicable, the local licensing authority.
Use the course enrollment above, then complete the separate CAMP application and state test. Employers can organize training for the team through the existing employee enrollment path.
